Common use of Movement to a Lower Classification Clause in Contracts

Movement to a Lower Classification. If an employee is reclassified to a position in a classification with a lower salary range, his/her salary rate may remain the same if it is within the salary range of the lower classification. If the employee’s current salary rate is not within the lower salary range, the reduction in wages shall not occur until one year after the effective date of the reclassification. The anniversary date does not change as a result of the movement to a lower classification.
