MVPC+’s Staff Reference Check Processes. MVPC+ performs reference checks regularly on contractors that we employ for work in state agencies. MVPC+’s Senior Consultant collects multiple references from each prospective contractor, contacts the reference providers directly, by phone, and documents the following: Confirmation of the contractor’s employment dates, job title and duties A rating of the contractor’s technical ability and job performance (on a scale of 1-10) Were there any attendance or other issues, comments and concerns? If applicable, why is the contractor no longer working with the agency or firm? Would they would re-hire the contractor? We also use reference letters that we receive from candidates’ employers to further evaluate the suitability of a contractor for a particular position. In addition to reference checks, we can also conduct background checks, if required upon selection.
