Based on GfK Mediamark Research & Intelligence, LCC (“MRI”)2 readership data, we know that more readers than just those who purchase or otherwise receive circulated issues actually open or read the publication. Many secondary readers will see the Publication Notice away from home: for example, at a subscriber’s house; at a doctor’s office; in an airport; on an airplane; in the reception area of a company; passed around by co-workers at the place of employment; etc. Exposure in a different environment can increase attentiveness and response potential. It is also beneficial that readership tends to build over a period of time following the publication date. This is evidence that issues can be referred to at any time, thereby providing readers with a longer, sustained opportunity to be exposed to the Notice. In the chart on the following page, the “Readers Per Copy” calculations set forth the average number of readers-per-copy of each of the selected publications.
