Necessary Changes. The exercise of shift preference shall not limit the City from making any work schedule changes at any time that it becomes necessary for the proper and efficient operation of the Police Division, but upon said change, shift preference shall be re- implemented as soon as practicable. The City acknowledges that it is not the Officers’ desire to work the traditional 6 – 2 schedule if at all possible. The City agrees that it will consider alternate schedules in lieu of the 6 – 2 schedule as xxxxxxx levels and division goals allow. The Union acknowledges that at all times xxxxxxx levels and division goals may dictate use of the 6 – 2 schedule and the City has the final say in determining what schedule will be used.
