Provisional Teachers. (Section 1.19.3)
Provisional Teachers. 2 1. All Provisional Teachers are subject to non-renewal of employment contract pursuant to 3 RCW 28A.405.220.

Provisional Teachers. A. Provisional teachers are those who are within their first three years of employment with the District, except for those who have at least two years of certificated employment with another school district in the state of Washington. Those with such experience shall be provisional only during their first year of employment with the District.
B. All Provisional teachers are subject to non-renewal of employment contract pursuant to RCW 28A.405.220.
C. All Provisional teachers in the third year of provisional status shall be observed at least three times in the performance of his or her duties and the total observation time for the school year shall not be less than (90) ninety minutes.
D. Provisional teachers who are new to the profession and whose performance is determined to be Proficient (Level 3) or Distinguished (Level 4) by the end of their second year of employment in the District may be removed from provisional status by the Superintendent.
E. The Principal or his or her designee shall make at least one (1) observation for a total observation time of at least thirty (30) minutes within the first ninety (90) calendar days of employment of all teachers in their first year of employment with the District.
F. The District shall notify the Association President if, a provisional employee is performing at an unsatisfactory level.
Provisional Teachers. This section applies to any person employed by a school district in a teaching or other nonsupervisory certificated position after June 25, 1976. This section provides the exclusive means for non-renewing the employment contract of a provisional employee and no other provision of law shall be applicable thereto, including, without limitation, RCW 28A.405.210 and chapter RCW 28A.645.
Provisional Teachers. Provisional Teachers whose performance is deemed unsatisfactory shall be placed on probation in accordance with Article III. If nonrenewed, a provisional teacher shall have access to the grievance process only up through Article IV.

Provisional Teachers. 1. Definition: The term "Provisional Teacher" shall mean any teacher in a teaching or other nonsupervisory certificated position. Provisional teachers shall be subject to nonrenewal of employment contract, without any requirement for probation, as provided in RCW 28A.405.220 during the first three consecutive years of employment, unless:
Provisional Teachers. (a) On or before December 1, the Committee will deter- mine when a vacancy is expected to last for the duration of the school year and shall grant a prospective contract to a provi- sional teacher hired to fill such vacancy. After December 1, a teacher who is expected to perform for the balance of the school year in the same assignment will be paid as a long-term substi- tute in accordance with the agreed upon terms governing sub- stitute teachers and there shall be no retroactive contracts.
(b) Provisional teachers shall be given salary credit for up to three (3) full years of satisfactory teaching experience inside or outside of the school system. A “full” year inside the system for salary purposes is calculated as no less than one hundred twenty (120) days and includes service as a substitute. A “full” year outside the school system is calculated at no less than one hundred sixty (160) days and excludes service as a substitute.
(c) Provisional teachers shall be entitled to step advance- ment on the same basis as permanent teachers, without being capped at the third step on the bachelor schedule.
Provisional Teachers. 1. A Certified Provisional Teacher (CPT) is a person who has not yet been appointed, who holds a New York State provisional or permanent certificate, a New York City regular license or a New York City substitute license issued on or before June 30, 1969. CPT’s do not require annual renomination.
2. A Preparatory Provisional Teacher (PPT) is a person who has not yet completed all the requirements for New York State provisional certification, but who holds a New York State temporary license. Pursuant to Commissioner’s regulations, a PPT will be eligible for annual renomination for a state temporary license for a period of three years provided that for each year of service the PPT has been rated satisfactory and has shown progress toward state provisional certification. For any PPT who satisfies these condtions the Chancellor will seek state renomination.
3. Appointments and assignments to teaching positions shall be made in accordance with state education law, Commissioner’s regulations and applicable Board of Education regulations and provisions of this Agreement. Appointments shall be made from eligible lists of persons holding regular licenses. After all available persons with regular licenses have been appointed and where positions still remain vacant or arise during the course of the school term, certified provisional teachers shall have priority for any assignment. Where no certified provisional teacher is available for assignment, preparatory provisional teachers will be eligible for such assignment. Except in cases of emergency, any CPT or PPT employed to fill a full term or balance of term assignment will be retained for at least the duration of that term.
Provisional Teachers. 1. Definition: The term “Provisional Teacher” shall mean any teacher in a teaching or other nonsupervisory certificated position. Provisional teachers shall be subject to nonrenewal of employment contract as provided in RCW 28A.405.220 during the first three years of employment, unless: (a) the teacher has previously completed at least two (2) consecutive years of certificated employment in another school district in the state of Washington, in which case the teacher shall be subject to nonrenewal of employment contract pursuant to RCW 28A.405.220 during the first year of employment; or (b) the teacher has received an evaluation rating of level one (1) on the four-level rating system established under RCW 28A.405.100 during the third (3rd) year of employment, in which case the teacher shall remain subject to the nonrenewal of the employment contract until the teacher receives a level two (2) rating. This shall include any teacher who is re-employed with the District after a break in service.
