Non-Profit Organization a university or other institution of higher education or an organization of the type described in 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended (26 U.S.C. 501 (c)(3)) and exempt from taxation under 501 (a) of the Internal Revenue Code (26 U.S.C. 501 (a)) or any nonprofit scientific or educational organization qualified under a state nonprofit organization statute.
Non-Profit Organization. As stated in the School’s Application (Appendix 1) and as required by Section 1002.33(12)(i), Florida Statutes, the School has been organized as a Florida non-profit organization and shall maintain status as a Section 501(c)3 status under the Internal Revenue Code. Voting shall control the non-profit organization, and only the School’s Governing Board shall vote. The School shall at all times operate as a non-profit corporation and shall annually provide proof to the Sponsor of the School’s status as a non-profit organization. Such status shall not be permitted to lapse, be revoked or terminate. Failure to comply with this section within 30 calendar days of written notice of a violation will constitue a material violation of the Charter and be good cause for its termination by the Sponsor.
Non-Profit Organization. Grantee agrees, if it is a non-profit organization, to make their financial statements available online (either on Grantor’s, its own, or another publicly available website). OVC will consider sub-recipient organizations that have Federal 501(c)(3) tax status as in compliance with this requirement, with no further action needed, to the extent that such organization files IRS Form 990 or similar tax document (e.g., 990-EZ), as several sources already provide searchable online databases of such financial statements.

Non-Profit Organization. If you are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization (“non-profit”), you may be eligible for a DOF hardship payment plan with a lower down payment and a longer repayment period than offered under standard Department of Finance payments plans. To be eligible for a hardship payment plan, the non-profit must have suffered a significant economic loss and must be able to demonstrate that its current revenue is 25% lower than its prior year’s revenue. “Revenue” for the non-profit is defined in the IRS 990 or 990EZ section VII, but may be supported by equivalent documentation if an applicable tax return is not yet filed. The current year is the most recently completed calendar or fiscal year.
