Nonaccrual of Benefits While on Worker’s Compensation. Employees shall accrue vacation and sick leave benefits while receiving Worker’s Compensation weekly benefits. Employees shall be permitted to utilize sick leave for only the first five (5) workdays of a work-related injury. Upon request, employees may supplement workers’ compensation benefits with accrued sick leave, vacation, or earned compensatory time; however, the total compensation received shall not exceed the employee’s present salary. Abuse of worker’s compensation privileges shall constitute grounds for disciplinary action and possible dismissal.
