(b) An Employee employee is not in breach of sub-clause 6.11.5 a29.5(a) by failing to give the required period of notice if such failure is due to the requirement of the adoption agency to accept earlier or later placement of a child, or other compelling circumstances. (c) An Employee employee proceeding on adoption leave may elect to take a shorter period of adoption leave to that provided by this clause and may at any time during that period elect to reduce or seek to extend the period stated in the original application, provided four (4) weeks written notice is provided.

Notice and Variation Requirements. (a) An Employee employee shall give no less than four (4) eight weeks written notice to the Employer employer of: i. (i) the date the Employee employee proposes to commence paid or unpaid adoption leaveAdoption Leave; and (ii. ) the period of leave to be taken.
