Common use of Notice of Discharge Clause in Contracts

Notice of Discharge. In the event that an employee is discharged, the Employer shall furnish the employee and the Union with written notice thereof. The notice shall contain a statement of the reason(s) for the discharge; provided, however, that the Employer shall not be bound in arbitration by such reason(s) if it amends or modifies the statement in writing prior to completion of the last grievance step before arbitration.
