Common use of Notice of Overtime Clause in Contracts

Notice of Overtime. Notice of any overtime work shall be given to affected employees, before quitting time of the day preceding the day in which the overtime work will be required, but in no event later than the midpoint or four (4) hours into an eight (8) hour shift on the date in which the overtime work will be required. However, this provision shall not apply in the event of overtime work necessitated by a power failure, machine breakdown, unforeseen or emergency demand for product, or other causes beyond the control of the Company.
