Common use of Notice of Reduction in Position or Layoff Clause in Contracts

Notice of Reduction in Position or Layoff. The Personnel Officer shall provide each employee directly affected by a reduction position or layoff process with a written notice at least thirty (30) days prior to the effective date of the action. The notice shall include the: - Reason for reduction in position or layoff. - Class(es) to which the employee may be reduced, if any. - Effective date of the action. Upon receipt of a notice of a reduction in position, the affected employee must respond in writing to the Personnel Officer within ten (10) calendar days from receipt of sat declaring his/her intention to either comply with the reduction in position process or be placed on the appropriate re-employment list.
