Obligation to Release Apartment. An employee who is discharged for just cause or who quits shall vacate any apartment which has been furnished to them under this Agreement not later than fourteen (14) days after notice of discharge or quit, unless extended by agreement, and shall at that time, in addition, return to the Employer all keys, equipment or other property of the Employer for which the employee has signed as having received, excepting only such property as was necessarily expended in the course of employment. An employee who is discharged immediately, in accordance with Article V, Section 2, shall also vacate any apartment furnished under this Agreement not later than fourteen (14) days after the termination.

An employee who quits shall vacate any apartment not later than thirty (30) fourteen (14) days after notice of discharge or intent to quit (i.e., 30 days from the date the employee gave notice of intent to quit, not 30 days from the last day of employment), unless extended by agreement. An employee who is discharged for just cause shall vacate any apartment not later than 14 days after the effective date of discharge (i.e., 14 days from the last day of employment), unless extended by agreement. All employees, on or before the last day of employment and shall at that time, in addition, return to the Employer all keys, equipment or other property of the Employer for which the employee has signed as having received, excepting only such property as was necessarily expended in the course of employment. An employee who is discharged immediately, in accordance with Article V, Section 2, shall also vacate any apartment furnished under this Agreement not later than fourteen (14) days after the termination. The Union shall utilize its best efforts to require affected employees to comply strictly with this requirement. If such efforts are unsuccessful, the employee will be liable for the payment of rent for each day they remain in the apartment after the effective date of the termination or the agreed extension of time for vacating the apartment. The amount of daily rent shall be the pro rata amount of a monthly rent equal to 25% of the employee's regular wage rate but shall not be in excess of the amount permitted or provided under any law or program applicable to such building.
