OCCUPATIONAL CLASSIFICATIONS AND SALARY RATES. 33.01 Occupational Classifications and Salary Rates are set out in Appendix "A", which is attached hereto and forms part of this Agreement. Bargaining Unit employees, as of September 17, 2019, will automatically progress to the next position on their salary grid provided that they have commenced employment on or before the previous September 30th and have successfully completed their probationary period. Progression from one (1) step to the next higher step within the job classification shall be based on merit. A progression resulting from a performance evaluation/review shall be effective on April 1st of each year. All employees are required to participate in the performance review and goal setting process. If the employee has not received a performance evaluation as of April 1st, the employee will be deemed meritorious for the purpose of the step increase noted above. A disagreement by an employee with his/her evaluation may be the subject of a grievance.
