JOB CLASSIFICATIONS AND RATES OF PAY. 7.01 Employees shall be classified and paid in accordance with Schedule A of this agreement. 7.02 If a new job is created within the scope of the bargaining unit, the Employer and the Union shall meet to discuss the appropriate wage rates before anyone is employed. a) Wages shall be paid bi-weekly via automatic bank deposits, or by pay cheque. Deposits shall be made on applicable Thursdays where possible, and payroll statements shall be available on the same date. b) If an employee informs the Employer of an error on her paycheque within twenty-four hours of receipt, and if the error is in excess of twenty dollars, the Employer shall correct the error by no later than seven working days. 7.04 If an employee who is scheduled to work is not notified one hour or more prior to the scheduled shift that she is not needed, and she subsequently reports for work and there is no work available, she shall be guaranteed a minimum of four hours wages provided she remains on premises and performs any duties assigned by the supervisor. In such circumstances, if an employee is called one hour or more before she is scheduled to report for work and is informed that she is not to report for work, then the provisions of this article shall not apply. 7.05 When an employee is called in to work within one-half hour of the starting time of the shift, and the employee commences work within one hour of the call, then the employee will be paid as if the entire shift had been worked, provided she completes the shift for which she was called in. 7.06 When an employee is called back after the completion of her regular shift, she shall receive a minimum of four hours pay at the appropriate rate provided she remains on premises and performs any duties assigned by the supervisor. 7.07 All staff members shall be paid at their straight time hourly rate for attending staff meetings or in-service training meetings where their attendance is required by the Employer. The Employer will endeavour to hold meetings at times convenient to the employees involved. Staff and/or in-service meeting dates shall be posted at least seven days in advance. Attendance will be mandatory for all staff except those on approved leaves of absence. 7.08 When an employee is called in to work outside of her regular shift hours and Articles 7.04 or 7.06 do not apply, she shall be paid a minimum of three (3) hours pay at the appropriate rate. 7.09 Employees who become ill and need to leave the workplace after having wor...

JOB CLASSIFICATIONS AND RATES OF PAY a. Employees shall be classified and paid in accordance with Schedule "A" which is attached to this Agreement and forms a part of it. b. The Employer will grant its employees recognition of service time for wage progression purposes where the employee was absent due to pregnancy, parental, personal emergency, family medical, reservist or declared emergency leave, injury, illness or disability. 7.02 Related professional experience shall be recognized by hiring a person at the wage level appropriate to the teacher’s years of experience. 7.03 Where an employee notifies the Director of Finance of an error on his or her pay cheque and after an error is found to be made, then the School Association shall correct the error as soon as possible and not later than the next scheduled pay day. 7.04 New classifications and wage rates are to be established only by mutual agreement between the parties hereto. 7.05 Employees shall be paid bi-weekly, on Thursdays, between September 1st and August 31st. The employees’ salary shall be divided by twenty-six (26) or twenty-seven (27) pay periods, depending on the number of pay periods that fall in a given contract year. 7.06 In recognition of the fact that a teacher’s main vacation period is during the summer, a teacher whose employment terminates before the end of the school year shall normally have his or her salary prorated as a percentage of eleven (11) months. It is agreed that this provision fulfills the statutory requirement on vacation pay and that no additional payments are owing. For clarification, this Article does not apply to leaves of absence. 7.07 For all employees, the pay year shall be September 1st to August 31st. For all existing employees for whom this change causes hardship, the Board and employee will establish a plan that is agreeable to both parties. 7.08 Each employee is paid by automatic bank deposit to the employee’s bank account.
JOB CLASSIFICATIONS AND RATES OF PAY. 9.01 Employees shall be classified and paid in accordance with Schedule "A" which is attached to this Collective Agreement and forms a part of it. a. When a new classification (which is covered by the terms of this Agreement) is established by the Home, the Home shall determine the rate of pay for such new classification and notify the Union of the same within seven (7) days. If the Union challenges the rate, it shall have the right to request a meeting with the Home to endeavour to negotiate a mutually satisfactory rate. Such request will be made within ten (10) days after the receipt of notice from the Home of such new occupational classification and rate. Any change mutually agreed to resulting from such meeting shall be retroactive to the date that notice of the new rate was given by the Home. If the parties are unable to agree, the dispute concerning the new rate may be submitted to arbitration as provided in the Agreement within fifteen (15) days of such meeting. The decision of the Board of Arbitration (or arbitrator as the case may be) shall be based on the relationship established by comparison with the rates for other classifications in the bargaining unit having regard to the requirements of such classifications. The parties further agree that any change mutually agreed to or awarded as a result of arbitration shall be retroactive only to the date that the Union raised the issue with the Home. b. The parties understand and recognize that employees may wish to upgrade their qualifications and skills in order that they may apply under the provisions of Article 5 for positions within new classifications should such positions arise. Employees wanting to upgrade themselves, will be given the opportunity to apply for new positions provided: i. they have the ability required for the new position; ii. they obtain the necessary qualifications required for the position within six months from the date of being accepted into the new position or the length of time required to complete the certificate program; and iii. If a greater time is required the parties will meet/discuss extensions as required. Granting of such extensions will not be unreasonably withheld. a. Wages shall be paid biweekly. JOB CLASSIFICATIONS AND RATES OF PAY. 24.1 The rates of pay for all employees shall be in accordance with Schedule "A" attached hereto, for the life of this Agreement. 24.2 In the event the Employer establishes a new job or substantially revises the content of an existing job, the Employer will issue a rate of pay for such new or revised job within 60 days. Failure to issue such a rate, or the equity of said rate versus rates of comparable jobs, shall be subject to the grievance and arbitration provisions of this Agreement. 24.3 In the event any bona fide government action requires revision to the rates of pay for any job(s), the Employer agrees to negotiate the issue with the Union and any dispute will be subject to the grievance and arbitration provisions of this Agreement.

An employee may request to have her name added to the end of one additional call in list other than the classification group in which she works, provided that she is immediately qualified to do the work of that classification. The employee shall commence to earn seniority in the additional classification after the first call in shift. It is understood that an employee may only place her name on the call in list if she works less than seventy five (75) hours bi-weekly and is available to do the call ins without incurring overtime. The employee who places her name on the additional call- in list shall be paid for the time worked in the call-in classification at the rate which is equal to her regular rate, or in the absence of an equal rate, at the rate in the classification which is closest and greater to the employee’s regular rate. In the event the rate of the employee is greater than the maximum rate in the classification for which she is called in, she shall be paid the maximum rate of the classification for which she is called in. a.
