OFF-DUTY STANDBY COMPENSATION. A. Notwithstanding any other provision of this MOU, Unit members who are assigned by the Airport Police Chief or his/her designee to standby for nights and weekends, will receive one hour of compensation at straight time for every six hours they are required to standby. The use of standby is based solely on operational needs and may be relinquished at any time. Under no circumstances shall Unit members be assigned to standby in the Patrol Unit, unless in an emergency. B. Time spent on duty during the period of standby will be deducted from the total time the employee is on standby, not from the time accumulated as compensated standby time.
