Actual number of positions shall be determined on a per season basis; however, under no condition will the total number of positions be fewer than sixty-two (62).
B. Extra duty compensation will be paid in one payment upon completion of activity except for full year activities which will be paid one-half of the amount each semester. Each unit member involved shall be responsible for submitting the proper form.
C. Extra duty assignment forms shall be provided the unit members for the following year and are due within 30 calendar days following the ratification date of the negotiated agreement. Such forms shall include compensation for such activity.

Extra Duty Compensation. 28-1 In accordance with the provisions for work week and work year found in Articles 8-1 and 8- 2, any time a teacher agrees to perform work for the District beyond the work week or work year, that teacher will be compensated as described in this Article.
Extra Duty Compensation. 1. In most instances, extra duty will be handled by an adjustment of workload within the Department or School.
2. When supplemental salary is appropriate, the position will be advertised through the Office of Equal Opportunity and all unit members will be notified of the position immediately.
3. The supplemental salary will not become a part of the faculty member's base salary.
4. PSU/KNEA shall be notified of all extra duty positions and compensation for extra duty at the end of each semester and summer session.
5. The President of KNEA will receive the equivalent of three hours release time for each semester while in office.
Extra Duty Compensation. All work under Article XVII, Section 2 A, B, and C extra-duty compensation is voluntary and can be terminated by either party at any time. If work is terminated, payment for services rendered will be paid. Extra-duty compensation will be paid when work is completed, certified, and processed by the Business Office. (See Appendix E) In order to receive extra-duty compensation under this Article, the teacher, supervising administrator, and Superintendent or designee must sign a completed form. Work is not to be performed prior to a signed agreement. If work is performed prior to approval by all parties, it may not be compensated. Teachers may work in programs operated through the Community Education office, and such work is not a part of this agreement as outlined in Article I (A).
A. Professional Development (PD)
1) The Board and CEA (CEA) believe there is a mutual benefit for CEA members to increase their knowledge and skill. The Board may offer unpaid and paid professional development opportunities. When the Board offers “paid” opportunities outside of regular contract hours, the rate of pay shall be $12.00 per hour. Paid or unpaid professional development outside of the teacher’s regular contract hours shall not be required. (See Appendix E)
2) The District may require newly-hired teachers to attend “orientation” days for the purpose of helping them to be prepared for their work. If such days are provided, teachers shall be paid at the professional development (PD) rate of pay for attending such activities. The District is not required to provide such orientation days. (See Appendix E)
B. Professional Extra Duty (PED) (School Improvement/Curriculum/Accreditation)
1) The Board may offer PED work to CEA members. Such assignments, to be valid and paid, must be documented on the Extra-Duty Compensation Agreement Form (See Appendix E) and approved by the teacher, supervising administrator, and Superintendent or designee. (See Appendix E)
2) A teacher’s PED work is considered “extra-duty” and “at will.” The Board is obligated only to pay the wages agreed to on the Professional Extra-Duty form and only for the hours actually worked. If a teacher fails to provide the service outlined in the PED agreement, or if the PED work is cancelled by the District, the teacher shall be compensated only for services rendered. (See Appendix E)

Extra Duty Compensation. 13.1 Bargaining unit members should have reasonably equal loads. Administrative assignments should attempt to equalize the time and energy expended on the job. In certain cases where duties require time and energy beyond the normal assignment, extra-duty compensation shall be given. (See Appendix E)
13.2 Assignments, for which extra-duty compensation shall be given, fall into the following four classifications. No staff member shall assume more than two Class I and/or Class II assignments.
Extra Duty Compensation. The salary schedule is based upon a normal weekly teaching load during normal teaching hours, as hereinafter defined during the life of this Agreement. For any additional work or duties, the teacher shall be entitled to appropriate additional compensation, as provided in Schedules B, C and D.
Extra Duty Compensation. 1. The parties agree that the following conditions will be applied to the hiring and paying of bargaining unit employees who work at athletic and/or other extra- curricular functions. Examples of assignments include but are not limited to ticket takers, gatekeepers, scorekeepers, running game clocks, student supervision, security, dance chaperones, etc.
a. Classified employees do not qualify for overtime pay when working such assignments as described above because these assignments are considered occasional or sporadic, and are in a different capacity, as defined by the Fair Labor Standards Act.
b. Classified employees hired for extra duty assignments as described above shall be paid an hourly rate of thirteen dollars ($13.00). In no case will classified employees be paid less than other employees for these same duties.
2. Extra Duty coaching assignments will be offered to licensed employees first, and then to classified employees under the following conditions:
a. Coaching assignments should not regularly interfere with an employee’s regular work duties.
b. Coaching assignments are routine in nature and are, therefore, subject to overtime which is defined as work in excess of forty (40) hours in any designated workweek, including holiday time.
c. The rate of pay for Extra Duty coaching assignments shall be at the discretion of the District, based on applicable wage and hour laws.
Extra Duty Compensation. The elementary teachers will receive compensation for work outside of the contract day such as IEPs, Music Program Supervision, P.E. teacher work on music programs, and any other obligations that require elementary teachers to work beyond the school day. The elementary classroom teachers and P.E. teachers will receive 10 paid planning periods at $15 per period (or $150 per year) for work time beyond the contract day. This compensation will be added to their December, March and June paychecks.
Extra Duty Compensation. A. Any of the positions in Schedule B must be approved in advance by the Superintendent.
Extra Duty Compensation. A. Teachers involved in extra duty assignments set forth in Schedule B which is attached to and incorporated in this Agreement shall be compensated in accordance with the provisions thereof. All teachers shall be compensated in accordance with the provisions of this section and the annexed Schedule without deviation.
B. Any new salary not presently in Schedule B will be negotiated at the time the job is created.
