Outpatient counseling. This program serves individuals who typically have long histories of mental health and substance disorders including frequent contacts with police, jails, courts, emergency rooms, crisis centers and hospitals. The primary goals are to reduce or eliminate substance use, manage the symptoms of mental health disorders, engage in a long term program of recovery and to live in the community as independently as possible. Objectives and indicators toward those goals include the ability to live in local apartments or supervised settings successfully with and without assistance/support; stabilization of the precipitating condition and relapse potential of both mental health and substance abuse disorders; compliance with medication regimen; and decrease in frequency and duration of admissions to Cornhusker Place (Detoxification), Lancaster County Crisis Center, the Lincoln Regional Center, area hospitals, emergency rooms and correctional facilities.
