Group Counseling. CONTRACTOR shall provide counseling and intervention 25 within a group setting to Clients. Group interventions and activities may include, but are not limited to 26 process groups, seminars and educational groups, house and community group meetings, and practical 27 life and social skills.
Group Counseling. Face-to-face contacts in which one or more therapists or counselors treat two or more clients at the same time with a maximum of 12 in the group, focusing on the needs of the individuals served.
1. Group counseling sessions shall focus on short-term personal, family, job/school, and other identified problems areas as they relate to the beneficiary’s substance use or a return to substance use.

Group interventions and activities may include, but are not limited to process groups, 3 seminars and educational groups, house and community group meetings, self-help meetings and 4 practical life and social skills. CONTRACTOR shall provide special sessions addressing the following 5 areas:

5 1) Substance use education.
6 2) Conflict resolution, anger management, skills building.
7 3) Trauma (abuse, violence)
8 4) Relapse prevention.
Group Counseling. 1. Group counseling is defined as a face-to-face contact in which one (1) or more counselors treat two (2) or more clients at the same time, focusing on the needs of the clients. Clinical groups shall consist of at least two (2) clients but not more than twelve (12) clients, with a minimum of one (1) Drug Medi-Cal funded client.
2. All group counseling sessions shall be documented in the client record. Documentation shall conform to a KernBHRS-approved format and include, at minimum: the date and duration of the service; a description of the progress made relative to the treatment plan goals, objectives or action steps; action plan; and the clinician’s signature and title.
3. Group counseling services shall be provided at a minimum of one (1) time weekly. More frequent group services may be provided based on clinical need and/or judgement. A group sign-in sheet shall document client attendance and shall conform to all Title 22 requirements.
