The 'Part-time transfers' clause governs the conditions under which an employee may transfer from a full-time to a part-time position within an organization. Part-time transfers a) The Employer shall consider, in order of seniority, written requests from part time employees who wish to transfer to another department. Requests from unrestricted part-time employees will be considered prior to the requests of restricted part- time employees. It is understood that in order for the request to be considered, the employee must meet the Employer’s requirements for the department.
b) A part time employee who moves into a new department under this clause shall be granted a trial period of thirty (30) working days. During this period, the employee may return to his or her former position by giving the Employer a written notice of one (1) week. The Employer may also return the employee to his or her former position at any time during this trial period The Employer and the Union may agree in writing to extend this period for a maximum of thirty (30) additional days.
Part-time transfers. The right to transfer for part-time employees shall be subject to the following process:
1. A part-time employee requesting a transfer must notify the Employer by letter by December 31 and May 31 of each year.
2. The Employer agrees to meet with the Union to discuss the placement of part-time employees requesting a transfer by January 15th and June 15th respectively.
3. Both the Employer and the Union agree that seniority determines the placement of the part-time employee for the maximization of hours.
4. The Employer agrees to place the part-time employees by the last week of January and June respectively.
5. The Employer and the Union reserve the right to deal with problems that may arise with the intent of this clause.
Part-time transfers. When a permanent part-time vacancy within the store occurs, the Company will transfer employees from another department in the store who have, in writing to the Company, indicated their desire for a transfer. For this purpose a “vacancy” shall mean a job opportunity created by an employee averaging twelve (12) or more hours per week who has left the employ of the Company. Applications received within thirty (30) days of the vacancy will not be considered. For the transfer to occur the following conditions must be met:
Part-time transfers. If a part-time employee ceases to be regularly employed for more than twenty-two and a half (22.5) hours per week, seven (7) weeks, that employee w i l l be automatically covered under the addendum to this collective agreement
