Vacation Selection Process. Vacation selection process for all eligible employees (including part time) shall commence by November 1st and continue through December 31st. All employees who are eligible for vacation will be included on the vacation planner. Full time employees, in order of seniority, shall choose their weeks of vacation subject to the vacation formula above. Following the approval of the vacation schedule for full time employees, unrestricted employees will choose their vacation next, followed by restricted employees. In addition, when Christmas falls on a Sunday or Monday, employees may not take vacation two weeks prior to the week of Christmas. Upon completion, a copy of the vacation planner shall be forwarded to the Union Office. The completed vacation planner will also be available in store for review by employees. Paid vacations for full-time employees and statutory holidays for all employees shall be considered as time worked for all purposes of the Collective Agreement.

Company seniority shall apply in preference for vacations within the store. In cases where transfers of personnel into a store make the foregoing inoperable, the fairest alternative procedure shall be adopted. Upon request, wherever possible, the Employer will schedule full-time employees the first day of the week after vacation as a day off. Furthermore, the employee's starting time for the first shift upon returning from paid vacation shall be written on the schedule prior to leaving on vacation. Paid vacations for full-time employees and statutory holidays for all employees shall be considered as time worked for all purposes of the Collective Agreement.
Vacation Selection Process. Subject to coverage and concerns related to resident care, vacation shall be granted amongst Bargaining Unit staff as noted below; If all employees have not received their requested summer vacation and there is still summer vacation time available, it will again be assigned based upon seniority. The vacation schedule will be posted by May 1 of each year. Vacations requests thereafter will be granted on a first come, first served basis if service requirements can be met. Vacation will not normally be granted during the Christmas - New Year’s period from December 20th to January 5th of each year.
Vacation Selection Process. 1. The selection of vacation is optional. Once an employee declines to select vacation, no additional vacation may be selected by that employee during that year.
2. Employees may select as many vacations as desired, provided they have sufficient hours available.
3. Employees may select all four (4) days of a tour (two days and two nights) or they may select just the first two (2) days or the last two (2) nights of a tour. A two (2) day or two (2) night selection counts as one selection.
4. Employees may choose two (2) consecutive tours. Employees selecting two (2) tours on the first round may select their third tour on the second round of selections.
5. The last tour beginning in December, and carrying into the new calendar year, will be considered as the last tour of the current vacation year.
a. Any days used in the following year, such as in “5” above, must be charged to the leave time of the year in which it was taken.
Vacation Selection Process a. The Employer will provide to Employees in November of the year prior to the vacation year, a vacation schedule for January 1st to March 31st outlining the number of Employees that can take vacation by Classification, by shift, by week, this vacation schedule will be provided prior to the vacation selection process. The Employer will also provide to the Employee on February 1st a vacation schedule for April 1st to December 31st outlining the number of employees that can take vacation by classification, by shift, by week, (at the same time the Employer will notify the Employees of the summer shutdown and seek volunteers for the summer vacation shutdown). The Employer will assure that the schedule includes enough vacation availability for each employee to take their allotted vacation time.
b. All classifications will be allotted a minimum 15% vacation allotment per crew per week. There will be no reduction in any weeks and no employee will be forced on vacation earlier than June 1st of the vacation year. Single day PPV will not be included in the 15% allotment.
c. After the vacation selection process is complete and an employee cancels vacation time, the open week of vacation will be posted for five (5) days and filled by seniority. Subsequent vacation openings will be filled on a “first come first serve” basis.
Vacation Selection Process. The vacation planner will be posted in each year from January 1 to March 15 to cover the time period April 1 to March 31. Employees shall indicate thereon the choice of dates for their vacation. This planner will be taken down March 16, reposted for revisions by March 23 and finalized by March 31. Any employee requesting a full week of vacation shall be given preference over any employee requesting a portion of that week, regardless of seniority. This rule will not apply to “first come first served” vacation requests made after March 31.

The first and part of second column of the schedule is reserved for Officers. To determine the number of shifts in the second column to meet the required vacation entitlement for Officers: • Divide the total vacation shifts requirement for Officers by the number of shifts in the particular year. • Subtract the number of shifts in the first column. • Fill columns by starting at the last column for Fire Fighters and working back to second column making sure you do not go over the number needed for the last column for Fire Fighters or 2nd column for officers.
