Classification Employees who are temporarily assigned the majority of duties and responsibilities of a higher-level classification will be notified in writing, with the bargaining unit representative having training on and access to a report providing a Higher Level Duty summary, and will be advanced to a step of the range for the new class that is nearest to five percent (5%) higher than the amount of their current step. The University may grant a higher salary increase as provided in 43.9. The increase will become effective on the first day the employee is assigned the higher-level duties.
