An employee entitled to pregnancy and/or parental leave who provides the employer with proof that she/he has applied for, and is eligible to receive, employment insurance benefits pursuant to Section 30 of the Employment Insurance Act, 1971, shall be paid an allowance for the twotwo (2) week waiting period in accordance with the Supplementary Employment Benefit Plan (sub plan – see Section 2) as determined by the Employment Insurance Commission (EIC).
