Common use of Payment for Advanced Degrees Clause in Contracts

Payment for Advanced Degrees. A. The Board of Education agrees to pay all teachers who have been in the system two years a special gratuity of fifty dollars ($50.00) per semester hour for all hours beyond permanent certification and/or continuing certification required to attain the Masters Degree. This will be paid in full upon receiving the Masters degree. B. In order to encourage self-improvement beyond the Masters Degree, the Board of Education agrees to pay fifteen dollars ($15) per semester hour for all hours necessary to complete work for the next higher degree. This will be paid in full to teachers who have been in the system no less than two years upon the completion of the degree.
