Payment of Sick Leave Benefits upon Termination. ‌ A. Upon retirement from state service or death, an eligible employee or the employee’s estate shall be compensated for accrued unused sick leave credits in accordance with prevailing legislative provisions covering employees of the State of Washington. B. Each employee’s sick leave credit days are cancelled automatically upon the employee’s termination of service. Terminating employees do not receive sick leave credits for the month in which they terminate unless they work at least eighty (80) non-overtime hours in the month. Former state employees who are re- employed within five (5) years of terminating from state service will be granted all unused sick leave credits they had at separation.
