Common use of Payment of Wages upon Layoff, Termination or Resignation Clause in Contracts

Payment of Wages upon Layoff, Termination or Resignation. (a) When an employee resigns, the Employer will pay all wages owing to the employee within six (6) calendar days of the date of his/her resignation. (b) When an employee is laid off or his/her services are terminated, the Employer shall pay all wages owing to him within forty-eight (48) hours, exclusive of Saturdays, Sundays or holidays. (c) When an employee is laid off or his/her services are terminated, upon receipt of a written request from the employee, the Employer will provide reasons for the layoff or termination.
