SENIORITY ENTITLEMENT DEFINED. (a) Seniority: For the purpose of this Agreement, "seniority" shall be defined as an employee's total length of continuous service identified in hours worked within the employee's classification within a particular department in the Employer's operation.

(a) "Service seniority" is defined as the length of an employee's service with the Employer calculated as the elapsed time from the date they were first employed, unless their seniority was broken, in which event such calculation shall be from the date they returned to work following the last break in their seniority.
SENIORITY ENTITLEMENT DEFINED. (a) For the purposes of this Agreement, "classification seniority" shall be defined as an employee's total length of continuous service within his current classification within a particular department in the Employer's operation.

SENIORITY ENTITLEMENT DEFINED. (a) Subject to paragraph (b) below, seniority is defined as the employee’s length of service within a classification from the date of hire.
SENIORITY ENTITLEMENT DEFINED. Seniority is defined as the employee's length of service within a classification within the bargaining unit from the date of hire. Classification seniority for part-time employees who transfer to full-time will begin from the time the employee becomes full-time. Full-time employees who transfer to part-time status will lose their full-time classification seniority and their part-time seniority will begin at the time of their transfer.

Seniority Defined: For the purpose of this Agreement, seniority shall be defined as an employee’s total length of continuous service identified in terms of his date of hire. Seniority shall not apply to a probationary employee. Upon successful completion of the probationary period, the employee's date of hire shall be the employee's seniority date.
SENIORITY ENTITLEMENT DEFINED. (a) Department Defined: For purposes of this Agreement, the term “department” shall be understood to mean those departments identified within this Agreement.

(b) For the purpose of this agreement except as outlined in (c) and (d) below, and for the purposes of Articles 12.1 and 13.1(b), which shall be based on service seniority, seniority shall be based on an employee's continuous length of service in a classification, within a particular department in the Employer's operation. Such seniority will be calculated in hours worked.
(c) For the purposes of annual vacation entitlement, seniority will be based on the total number of years of service in the hotel or establishment.
(d) Where an employee is scheduled in different classifications or departments, seniority will be based on combined hours worked and will accrue in the classification and department where the majority of those hours are worked.
(e) Available extra work outside the classification will be offered on the basis of seniority first within the department and then within the property, provided such senior person possesses the necessary skill, ability and qualifications to perform the full measure of the work required.

For the pur of this Agreement, the term “department” shall understood to mean those depart- ments identified within this Agreement. Classification seniority shall be used to deter- mine the order of layoff and recall within a classification within a particular department. In any case where a Part-Time employee believes that he is working a majority of his hours in a classifica- tion other than the one for which he was hired, or other than the one to which he was subsequent1 transferred, he may to the Employer to be to such other and if it can be established that he has been working more hours in another classification, he shall be transferred into the new classification, and shall be given a seniority start date that coincides with the date of his transfer into the new classification.
