Penalty Rates for Shift Work and Weekend Work. (i) Employees working afternoon or night shift shall be paid the following percentages in addition to the ordinary rate for such shift: Provided that employees who work less than 38 hours per week shall only be entitled to the additional rates where their shifts commence prior to 6am or finish subsequent to 6pm. Afternoon shift commencing at 10am and before 1pm - 10%. Afternoon shift commencing at 1pm and before 4pm - 12.5%. Nightshift commencing at 4pm and before 4am – 15%. Nightshift commencing at 4am and before 6am - 10%.
