Pending Layoff Action. The District will notify the Association in writing, thirty (30) working days prior to pending layoff actions that will affect employees within the bargaining unit. The Association’s representatives and District representatives will meet during the thirty (30) working day period to discuss alternatives to the layoff of employees in the bargaining unit. The purpose of such consultation shall be for the Association to offer alternative solutions and/or ensure the proper contractual implementation of such reductions. In unusual circumstances, both parties may mutually agree to waive the thirty (30) day waiting period.
