Pennsylvania State Police. The State Police believes that there is need for clarification of the “commercial implement of husbandry” definition. The State Police states that a large tractor pulling a liquid manure tank is currently considered a commercial implement of husbandry if it is used for profit. These large tractors are exempt from safety inspection but are allowed to travel on main highways without distance restrictions. However, if the manure tank they are pulling is full, the vehicle may actually exceed the allowable weight limits for road on which it is travelling.
