Common use of Personal Sickness/Accident Leave Clause in Contracts

Personal Sickness/Accident Leave. Any teacher employed in the Franklin School System may be granted a leave of absence without pay for up to one (1) year for personal sickness or accident. Any teacher who accepts employment on such leave shall be deemed to have resigned unless the teacher has received permission for such employment from the School Committee. Requests for such leaves will be supported by appropriate medical evidence. Employees on leave beyond FMLA may continue group health insurance coverage during said leave at the applicable COBRA rate and subject to the rights and regulations of COBRA.
