Personal Sick Leave. The following provisions will apply to all employees (other than casual employees) covered by this Agreement.

Personal Sick Leave. (1) An employee is entitled to use any accrued personal leave for absence due to personal illness or injury. The employee is entitled to use accumulated personal leave as sick leave if the employee has already used the current year’s sick leave component of the personal leave entitlement as personal sick leave. (2) An employee’s entitlement to sick leave is conditional on the employee promptly notifying the Company of any illness or injury that will cause the employee to be absent from work, and the approximate period of that absence. (3) An employee is required to produce a medical certificate for: (a) any absence of 2 days or more; (b) any absence immediately before or after a public holiday; (c) any absence immediately before the commencement or finalisation of annual leave; or (d) leave taken in excess of 4 working days per annum. In the event that a medical certificate is not provided for any period of sick leave in excess of 2 days, the period of absence will be treated as annual leave or unauthorised leave without pay at the Company’s discretion. (4) Leave taken by the employee under clause 16.3(1) is deducted from the amount of personal leave under clause 16.1.
Personal Sick Leave. Employees may use available leave time as necessary to recover from a personal disability, for personal illness or injury, or for illness or injury in the immediate family. The Board, within reason, may require a physician’s certificate verifying the disability.

Personal Sick Leave. Bargaining unit members may use available leave time as necessary to recover from a personal illness or injury. The Board may require a physician's certificate to verify the illness or injury for - absences of three (3) days or more.
Personal Sick Leave. (a) Every Full Time or Part Time Employee (prorata for Part Time Employees) will become entitled up to 76 hours personal leave for each completed year of continuous service with the Employer. (b) Casual employees do not have an entitlement to personal leave. (c) All personal leave will accumulate on the basis of 5.85 hours per four (4) weeks worked up to a maximum of 76 hours in any one year. (d) The Employee will be entitled to payment 7.6 hours per day (or part thereof) for any absence from work if all of the following conditions are met. (i) The Employee notifies the Employer at least 3 hours prior to the scheduled commencement of their shift of their absence; (ii) any absence exceeding one (1) day, the Employee must produce a certificate from a duly registered health practitioner (in relation to the area of practice) or a statutory declaration at the Employers approval, specifying the Employee is unfit for work during the period of absence because of personal illness or injury.; and (iii) the Employee has accrued the necessary personal leave entitlements. (e) Personal leave will be cumulative, but no Employee will be entitled to receive payment for more than 494 hours, for absences from work through illness in any one year. (f) Personal leave will not be payable during any period which the Employee is entitled to or is receiving compensation for an injury under the Workers Compensation and Rehabilitation Act (QLD) 2004.
Personal Sick Leave. A teacher may use leave days for absence from duty for mental or physical disabilities that prohibit the teacher from effectively meeting his/her job responsibilities. Pregnancies shall be treated as any other disability. The Board may require written medical evidence for verification of any of the above.
