Phrasing of the certificate Each successful candidate will be issued with a joint degree certificate by the two universities that have supervised and examined the thesis. The rules governing the phrasing of the joint degree certificate, which have been agreed by all consortium universities, are the following: • Each joint degree certificate will be issued in the form of a single document consisting EITHER of a single sheet in English OR of two or three separate sheets in two or three different languages. • If a joint degree certificate is issued in the form of two or three separate sheets in different languages, the first sheet will always be in English. • If a joint degree certificate is issued in the form of two or three separate sheets, each of these separate sheets will clearly state that the certificate is only valid in conjunction with a specified number of additional sheets. • The content of the phrasing on each separate sheet belonging to a single joint degree certificate will be identical but expressed in a different language. • The only three languages to be used in joint degree certificates issued by TEEME are English, German and Portuguese. • The exact phrasing of the certificate in all three languages is set out in annex 5 below. • The number of separate sheets in different languages that together constitute the single degree certificate depends on the combination of degree-­‐awarding universities. The six different possibilities for these combinations and the resulting requirements for the number of separate sheets in different languages are set out in the six samples listed in annex 5 below. • The exact academic title to be conferred on the successful candidate depends on the degree-­‐awarding institutions and can take the following different forms: “Doctor of Philosophy” (for degrees awarded by the University of Kent); “Doktor/Doktorin der Philosophie” (for degrees awarded by Freie Universität Berlin); “Doutor” (for degrees awarded by Universidade do Porto); “Ph.D. (Doktor)” (for degrees awarded by Univerzita Karlova v Praze). Depending on the combination of degree-­‐ awarding institutions, up to two of these degree titles will be used side-­‐ by-­‐side on all separate sheets of the joint degree certificate.   • Effective Date; Duration This Agreement shall become effective when signed by both parties and approved by the City’s legal counsel. Unless sooner terminated, this Agreement shall expire on June 30, 2019. An eligible employee absent from work due to sickness or accident at the effective date of the Plan, shall only be eligible for Long Term Disability Plan benefits upon the return to continuous active full-time employment for a period of more than four consecutive weeks. The Company shall have the right to give medical examinations to employees returning from such lay-off to determine their eligibility under the Plan.

  • EFFECTIVE DATE OF CONTRACT This contract shall not become effective until and unless approved by the City of Nashua.
