Common use of Plant Heat Clause in Contracts

Plant Heat. Cutting plants and air for pneumatic machines is to be heated to at least sixty (60) degrees. Hot water must also be provided. If the Union initiates a grievance for the Company's failure to heat the plant to 60 degrees, the arbitrator is authorized to impose a penalty of two (2) hours' pay for time lost due to lack of heat. The arbitrator shall be authorized to impose a penalty of up to four (4) hours' pay in situations where the Company has been found to have repeatedly failed to heat the plant as required under this Section and if the arbitrator finds that the circumstances of such violations warrant an additional penalty.
