Common use of POLITICAL PARTICIPATION Clause in Contracts

POLITICAL PARTICIPATION. 49.01 In the event that an Employee wishes to participate in political activities such as running for political office or campaigning for the candidate of their choice, etc., and should such activities require time away from work, the Employee shall request a leave of absence without pay to cover the period of their involvement in the political process. Such leave shall not be unreasonably withheld by the Employer. 49.02 The Employer shall place no restriction on the rights of Employees to participate in the political process including the right to run for political office or campaign for the candidate of their choice.
