Common use of Pre-Arranged Duty Assignment Pay Clause in Contracts

Pre-Arranged Duty Assignment Pay. An employee summoned to court, a hearing or a staff meeting in connection with his/her official duties on his/her off-duty time will be compensated at one and one-half (1-1/2) times the regular straight rate of pay for time spent at this pre-arranged duty for a minimum of three (3) hours. An officer required to appear during the morning session and afternoon session for the same case or a different case in the same day shall receive only one (1) minimum payment of three (3) hours under this section.

This may cause an Officer to be paid overtime if the total work hours for the week exceed 40 hours for the week.
