Officer in Charge Pay. ARTICLE 49 In the absence of the Chief or Assistant Chief, an employee shall be assigned as the officer-in-charge of the shift and shall be required to comply with the duties directed by the Chief. The parties agree to meet periodically during the term of this Agreement, pursuant to Section 1, Article 7, Meetings, to discuss and review this provision in a “labor-management committee” format. The first said labor-management meeting will be scheduled within thirty (30) days following the execution of this collective bargaining agreement.

Officer in Charge Pay. Non-probationary Patrol Officers who are required to work out of classification and who are assigned to serve as the Officer in Charge (OIC) for two (2) or more hours shall be entitled to additional compensation at a rate of $1.50 per hour for each hour the officer serves as officer in charge. This officer in charge pay occurs when there is not a patrol sergeant on duty for more than two (2) hours.
