Extra Duty Assignments. A. Any assignment in addition to the normal teaching schedule during the regular school year shall not be obligatory, except band, choir and drama (if a class), but shall be with the consent of the teacher.
1. Preference in making such assignments shall generally be given to teachers regularly employed in the District. The final appointment will be made in the best interest of the students.
2. Applicants for Schedule B positions must meet minimum requirements as developed by the District
3. If there is more than one teacher applicant for a Schedule B position, the teacher whom the Superintendent deems is best qualified in the activity will be awarded the position after considering the teacher's previous experience in the activity and professional background.
4. If the Board is unable to fill the position with someone from the outside, the Board may assign the position to a teacher.
5. No teacher shall be required to accept more than one (1) such position per school year.
6. Advance notice of any such assignment shall be given as soon as practical but at least fifteen (15) days before the assignment begins except for emergencies and those assignments that begin before the opening of school, or during the first week of school. It is agreed that co-curricular and extra-curricular positions are non-tenure in nature.
B. Returning Staff
1. All persons holding Schedule B positions shall be contacted, by the Athletic Director or Principal, no later than June 30, for fall and winter activities, and October 30, for spring activities, and shall, at that time, indicate their intent to continue in said position.
2. All vacancies shall be posted before the end of the school year.
3. Attempts will be made to fill all positions no later than two (2) weeks before the start of the activity.
C. Experience Credit for Extra Duty. Supplemental pay for Schedule B activities shall be based upon the appropriate salary step of Schedule B. For the purpose of step placement on Schedule B, the following will apply:
1. Teachers will be given credit for each year's experience in a particular activity which they are to perform on the extra duty schedule which is comparable to the previous position (i.e. same sport or activity) they performed at their prior place of employment. However, step placement will be no higher than Step 4 and there shall be no retroactive payment for past years services.

Extra Duty Assignments. Instructional faculty members who are assigned non-instructional extra duty assignments by the Employer which are in excess of normal professional responsibilities and extend beyond the normal work day or work year may be provided extra compensation upon recommendation of the Xxxx and approval of the President or designee. Instructional faculty members shall have the right to refuse non-instructional extra duty assignments which are in excess of normal professional responsibilities and extend beyond the normal work day or work year. Rate of compensation for such extra duty assignments shall be agreed upon between the faculty member and College Xxxx with the approval of the President or designee. If extra duty assignments are canceled by the Employer, the compensation will be pro-rated for any partial completion of assignments.

Extra Duty Assignments. Teachers shall be paid in accordance with the extra duty schedules attached hereto as Appendix “B.”
Extra Duty Assignments. Teachers involved in voluntary extra duty assignments as set forth in Appendix C of this Agreement, shall be compensated in accordance with the provisions of this Agreement without deviation, after requirements of their supplementary contracts have been fulfilled and said contracts have been approved by the building principal and/or other administrator as prescribed.
Extra Duty Assignments. Extra duty assignments as defined in Sections 5.5 and 5.6 shall be at the discretion of the Board and shall not invoke tenure in the extra duty assignments irrespective of the number of years such annual appointments have been continued. To assist in planning, the Board shall notify an employee by July 20 that the extra duty assignment shall not be made for the following school year.
Extra Duty Assignments. 1. Payment for extra-duty assignments outside the normal load will be paid according to the Schedule "B" for such assignments, which is attached to and incorporated in this Agreement.
2. When a teacher's regular assignment extends beyond the normal school year, the additional time shall be compensated at a pro-rata share of the teacher's current basic salary.
3. Teachers shall have the option of receiving their extra-duty pay spread from the beginning of the extra-duty assignment over the remaining paychecks or as two (2) separate checks, the first to occur halfway through the extra-duty assignment and the second at the conclusion of the assignment.
Extra Duty Assignments a. Teachers may be employed to perform extra or supplemental duties by the hour, quarter, school year, or other time period. Such duties may include but are not limited to club and activity sponsorship; added responsibility, e.g., department chair; coaching; student supervision at various events; and such other jobs as are included in Appendix II.
b. All such duties shall be offered to bargaining unit members prior to the employment of non-bargaining unit members, and all such work shall be compensated in accordance with this contract. No employee may be assigned such work without receiving compensation at the contractual rate nor may an employee waive proper compensation.
c. For duties not covered by a signed supplemental contract, payroll authorization forms will be available in the main office and the teacher’s lounge in each building. Additionally, a copy of the form shall be included in the teacher’s first day packet. The teacher is to complete the form with requested information and return it to the building office the teacher’s next workday. The form shall include directions for completion and shall include examples of activities and duties for which a member receives voluntary duty pay in the different pay rates for different duties. The duty shall be paid within three (3) weeks of the duty if the teacher returns the form by the school day after the duty is performed. (Failure to provide a supplemental contract or work completion form will not deprive an employee of his/her proper compensation.) There shall be a one (1) year time limit for a grievance claiming failure to pay for the performed duty. The first of the year staff meeting shall include a discussion of issues relating to the form and substitute and extra duty pay.
d. No employee may be compensated or receive compensatory released time over and above the compensation provisions of this contract. No employee may receive released time or supplemental compensation for his/her regular assignment except as provided in this contract. Except for single event hourly rate duties, any supplemental duty must be agreed to by WETA. It is understood that past practice of granting some released time for persons currently holding positions such as Athletic Director will be continued for present incumbents. Extra Duty Assignments. 21.2.1 All extra-duty positions in Appendix D shall have a job description. These descriptions will include duties and responsibilities, number of students supervised, number of competitions/performances, and/or number of hours required to earn the appropriate stipend.
21.2.2 There shall be a five-level system for extra-duty pay. All certificated extra-duty employees within the District shall be paid a percentage (see Appendix D) of their "step" in Class I of the Certificated Salary Schedule. Percentages are as follows: Xxxxx 0 = 8.25%, Xxxxx 0 = 6.75%, Xxxxx 0 = 5.5%, Xxxxx 0 = 4.0%, Xxxxx 0 = 2.5%.
21.2.3 Each "step" on the Extra Duty Pay Schedule is equivalent to one (1) documented term of service in a specific area/sport. Extra duty service performed within the District shall count for advancement in "step"; however, experience in one area/sport shall not count toward advancement in another. All employees shall receive credit for past service within the District. No credit will be given for experience outside the District.
21.2.4 After eleven (11) years of service in the same area/sport, one hundred-fifty dollars ($150.00) will be added to the certificated employee's unit member’s extra duty stipend.
21.2.5 If rehired, certificated employees who have left extra duty assignments within the District shall be able to re-enter at one step above their previously attained step.
21.2.6 Head athletic coaches shall be paid three hundred ($300.00) and District stipended varsity assistant coaches one hundred and fifty dollars ($150.00) for post-season CIF playoff competition. Any music program director or cheer team head coach who chaperones their program to perform at post-season CIF playoff competitions shall be entitled to this payment.
21.2.7 An athletic coach may not be paid for more than one (1) coaching position per season of sport. Unit members receiving Extra Duty Pay may only receive one (1) stipend per semester unless the position has been posted and no other qualified certificated unit member applied for the position.
21.2.8 All vacant athletic coaching positions shall be advertised at all District school sites.
21.2.9 The District will notify all employees of vacant coaching positions occurring during a vacation period (two (2) weeks prior to Winter, Spring, and two (2) weeks prior to and during Summer Break) via email and postings on the District website.

Extra Duty Assignments. 8.5.1 Extra-duty assignments shall continue to be compensated according to the activities and pay schedules in Appendix B. All ratios refer to B.A. base salary unless a difference is specified.
