Common use of Preparatory Time Clause in Contracts

Preparatory Time. 33.1 Locomotive engineers will report for duty 10 minutes prior to time locomotives are required to leave shop track or in instances where locomotive engineers change off in yard, 10 minutes prior to the starting time of the assignment. Such time shall be allowed for performing duties required of them prior to leaving shop track or prior to the starting time of the assignment and shall be paid for at a rate per hour of 1/8th of the daily rate applicable to the locomotive. Such time shall not be used to make up the basic day.
