Probation on Initial Appointment. 8.5.1 If an Employee is promoted during their initial probationary period, they shall serve a new probationary period in the new job. If they fail to qualify, their services shall be terminated. However, if they have served a total of twelve- (l2) consecutive months with SGI since their last date of hire, they shall be reverted to the last job they previously held and complete the remainder of the probation period for that job. 8.5.2 Temporary Employees who are placed on permanent status in the same department and same classification shall have their probationary period back-dated to the date of their employment in that classification.
