Professional Development Sabbaticals. 8.1.3.1 Sabbatical leaves may be granted to improve a faculty member’s professional competencies. The purpose of a professional development sabbatical is to increase a faculty member’s value to the University through opportunities for professional renewal, further education, or other experiences of professional value.
