Common use of Professional Leaves of Absence Clause in Contracts

Professional Leaves of Absence. A leave of absence shall be defined as a Board-approved absence from work. An employee shall not be paid salary, wages, or Board-paid fringe benefits while on a leave of absence. The individual employment contract of any employee on leave of absence shall continue to run during the period of such leave and shall, therefore, be subject to renewal, non-renewal, or suspension, or as otherwise provided by law. Leaves of absence may be approved for the following purposes:
