PROMOTION TO SUPERVISORY POSITION. A. An Employee promoted or transferred from a job classification in the Patrolman and Detective Patrolman Bargaining Unit to a supervisory position shall retain the seniority Employee had at the time of such promotion or transfer and shall continue to accumulate seniority while Employee is in such supervisory position for a period not to exceed eighteen (18) consecutive months from date or promotion or transfer. B. An Employee promoted or transferred as described in Sub-section A. of this Section shall have the right to return to the Patrolman and Detective Patrolman Bargaining Unit and be placed on a job to which such seniority would entitle Employee as if the employment with the Township Police Department had remained unbroken; provided, however, if such Employee is discharged for cause, Employee shall not be eligible to return to the Patrolman and Detective Patrolman Bargaining Unit. C. An Employee promoted or transferred from a job classification in the Bargaining Unit to a higher supervisory position within said Bargaining Unit or outside said Bargaining Unit shall retain the seniority Employee had at the time of such promotion or transfer and shall accumulate seniority while Employee is in such higher supervisory position inside or outside Bargaining Unit for a period not to exceed eighteen (18) consecutive months from date of promotion or transfer. D. D. An Employee promoted or described in sub-section C. Subsection C of this Section shall have the right to remain in or return to said Bargaining Unit and be placed on a job to which such seniority would entitle Employee as if the employment with the Township Police Department of Fire had remained unbroken; provided, however, if such Employee is discharged for cause, Employee shall not be eligible to return to said the Bargaining Unit.
