Common use of Promotional Preference Clause in Contracts

Promotional Preference. It is agreed that whenever management determines that a recruitment for a vacant position is to be filled promotionally only, preference shall be given to those employees in the department where the vacancy exists, then City wide, provided all other things are relatively equal. This provision shall be applicable only to those classifications represented by the Union.
