Common use of Protected Seniority Clause in Contracts

Protected Seniority. Preferential seniority against layoffs, only shall be granted to all members of the recognized grievance committees, (President, Vice President, Chief Xxxxxxx) and to the Area Stewards who handle grievances, provided that any employee so retained is qualified to perform the work of the job which is available.
