Protection of Employment. 1. Upon return from leave, the Board shall restore the employee taking a leave under this article to the position he/she held when the leave commenced. However, the return of an employee from family leave at the beginning of the school year shall not preclude the right of the superintendent to make an involuntary transfer under Section 505 as if the employee was not on leave of absence during the summer months preceding his/her return. 2. The taking of a leave under this article shall not result in the loss of any employment benefit accrued prior to the date the leave commenced.
