Protection of Existing Utilities. Contractor shall determine the exact location of all existing utilities before commencing the Work and shall provide whatever measures are necessary to properly protect and maintainmaintain all existing utilities encountered in the course of the Work. Contractor agrees hereby to be fully responsible and liable for any and all damages which might occur by his failure to exactly locate and/or preserve the location of any and all underground or overhead utilities. If any utilities are to be affected during the course of construction, the Contractor shall notify the owners thereof at least seventy-two (72) hours prior to any such construction
