Common use of Provincial Joint Occupational Health & Safety Committee Clause in Contracts

Provincial Joint Occupational Health & Safety Committee. ‌ (a) There shall be established a Joint Committee composed of two (2) representatives of the Employer and two (2) representatives of the Union. The Committee’s responsibility will be as outlined in the Workers Compensation Act and Occupational Health and Safety Regulation as well as to review reports and matters referred by District Occupational Health and Safety Committees. The Provincial Committee may make recommendations to the PJLMC regarding Occupational Health and Safety matters. (b) Employees who are representatives of the Committee shall not suffer any loss of basic pay for the time spent attending a Committee meeting. (c) Committee meetings as directed by the Employer shall be scheduled during normal working hours whenever practicable. Time spent by designated Committee members attending meetings held on their days of rest or outside their regularly scheduled hours of work shall not be considered time worked, but such Committee members shall receive pay at straight time rates for time spent on Committee business.
