PTO Compensation. Accrued PTO as appropriate shall be payable at the employee’s regular rate of pay on the first (1st) day of bona fide illness, injury, disability due to pregnancy or childbirth, or illness or injury of the employee or the employee’s dependent child, spouse, parent, parent-in-law, or grandparent, pursuant to state law. Employees shall be required to notify the Employer at least two (2) hours in advance of the employee’s scheduled shift if unable to report for duty. Failure to do so may result in loss of PTO compensation for that day. The Employer reserves the right to require reasonable proof of illness. Proven abuse of accrued PTO (i.e., a false claim of illness or other justification for an unscheduled absence) shall be grounds for discharge.
