Common use of PUBLIC EMPLOYEES’ MEDICAL AND HOSPITAL CARE ACT Clause in Contracts

PUBLIC EMPLOYEES’ MEDICAL AND HOSPITAL CARE ACT. The City contracts with the California Public Employees’ Retirement System (“CalPERS”) for medical insurance pursuant to the Public Employees’ Medical and Hospital Care Act (“PEMHCA”). The City will contribute the annual CalPERS statutory minimum on behalf of each participant in the program, which is included in the amount of the City’s contribution to the flexible benefit account (i.e., the Section 125 Benefit Plan) described below. Eligible employees may select any of the medical insurance plans offered by XxxXXXX.
