  • Effects of Layoff Workers who are laid off shall be entitled to the following:

  • Definition of Layoff A layoff shall be defined as a reduction in the work force or a reduction in the regular hours of work as defined in this Agreement.

  • Accrual of Leave An employee’s entitlement to paid personal/carer’s leave accrues progressively during a year of service according to the employee’s ordinary hours of work, and accumulates from year to year.

  • Accumulation of Personal Leave Personal leave described in Article 38 shall accumulate from year to year up to eight days. For the purposes of this section, “days” are based on the employee’s prorated work day.

  • Purpose of Leave Unpaid leave may be granted for any of the following reasons:

  • Order of Layoff A. When a reduction in the work force is necessary, employees in regular positions and those occupying limited-term positions at the direction of their agency/department head shall be laid off in an order based on consideration of:

  • Choice of Law clauses with TIPS Members If the vendor is awarded a contract with TIPS under this solicitation, the vendor agrees to make any Choice of Law c lauses in any contract or agreement entered into between the awarded vendor and with a TIPS member entity to re ad as follows: "Choice of law shall be the laws of the state where the customer resides" or words to that effect. 5 Agreed Venue of dispute resolution with a TIPS Member In the event of litigation or use of any dispute resolution model when resolving disputes with a TIPS member entity a s a result of a transaction between the vendor and TIPS or the TIPS member entity, the Venue for any litigation or ot her agreed upon model shall be in the state and county where the customer resides unless otherwise agreed by the parties at the time the dispute resolution model is decided by the parties. 6

  • Notice of Layoffs The County shall give reasonable notice to the Association before effecting any layoffs which materially affect employees represented under this Memorandum of Understanding. Upon receiving such notice, the Association may meet and confer regarding the effect of the layoff.

  • Use of Personal Leave An employee may use personal leave credits to conduct personal business that cannot be conducted outside of normal working hours and for personal emergencies.
